As a IAS General Accounting Intern, your job comprises month-end closing activities, such as calculating and posting accruals, maintaining prepaids schedule, reconciling bank accounts and posting cash activities, reconciling Balance sheet accounts and performing ad-hoc analysis. The goal is to ensure correct accounting records, as required by accounting standards and company policies.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for complete, accurate and timely accounting records and reporting for various group companies and branches.
  • Prepare accounting entries in accordance with relevant accounting standards and policies.
  • Perform month-end closing activities, investigating significant variances and providing insights of their drivers.
  • Reconcile Cash and other Balance Sheet accounts, as per reconciliation policy and company requirements.
  • Maintain strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, auditors and services providers.
  • Make recommendations for improvements in processes and/or quality of information reported and assists with implementation of action plans.
  • Operate in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) internal control requirements.
  • Complete ad hoc analysis and tasks as required.

 

Qualifications (Minimum Required):

  • Education level – University student, final year in accounting/finance
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and accounting records logic
  • Mandatory language – English
  • IT systems general literacy
  • MS Office basic knowledge – Excel, Office, PowerPoint, Word
  • Personal characteristics - analytical, questioning mindset, problem solving skills, interpersonal skills, team player.
